Action! Welcome, guys. Gals. Non-binary pals. Another bonus episode of the Hollywood Scarlets. My name is Sam Omi, director for the episode today. And I am joined by the ever talented. You always color code. Me. Black and blue, black and blue. Black and blue is kind of my default. You look good. Thanks, man. Aaron Duke. Hello. Hello, how are you? You second named me. You never second named me. I'm Siren, but yeah, I'm second named. Hello, Mr. Duke. Oh, yeah. How are you doing? Since he's about five minutes ago. Five minutes? Yeah, I am a lot's happened. It's going to take too long to go through it, so I think we should just move on I completely agree. Oh, I agree with that. We wanted to, obviously, because we've been away for a while. We're in sort of season two. We thought with Disney Plus it, we thought we'd do something. It's like we'll just throw two episodes, three, two episodes right off the bat. Here you go. And then we'll then go to weekly. I understand that we've been away for a while and you miss us, I hope. So if we give you an extra extra dose of the ginger. Loving that we have. So recently, I was a cat. I was in my old bedroom. I was looking through some drawers because I just for all of this, I've looked through, see how I could bring anything home, etc. something I found was an Empire magazine. The 25th anniversary Empire magazine from July 2014. 11 years ago. Yep. And on the front of it is the 301 Greatest Movies of All Time, according to Empire. In their biggest ever poll at the time. Oh, so it's not just them doing, you know, it's our biggest ever poll, the 301 Greatest movies of All time. So I thought this episode, let's go back, let's go back to a simpler time. 2014 2014. We had no Covid. It was a year that I was starting university. It was a year that's in this empire magazine. We've got a special preview of The Force Awakens Inbetweeners two. Let's have a first look at that. The new Batman. Well, that's right, the Ben Affleck Batman I knew at the time. That was when he was first revealed in the picture in front of the Batmobile, because it was Batman v Superman. I remember that picture. I remember it coming out. Everyone was like, Ben Affleck, and I saw the picture was like, I'm sure he looks pretty good. Yeah, that's what that's what I thought. A lot of people still argue. It's have a bit of a time capsule over time. Catch on. I want to go through the magazine with you because as soon as you like, as soon as you open up. Now, I'm going to try for editing and sound purposes, to be gentle with the pages. I kind of like the Asmr of the pages. Maybe. Maybe some of them have. Maybe something. You're right, it features obviously the 301 Greatest Movies of all time. We're also going to go through a couple of films that were in the cinemas at the time. What were they reviews? What were they received? What do you think of the films that were released in July 2014? Let's have a first look at The Hurt Locker with aliens, monsters, Dark Continent. Is that a film that you recognize? What the know is that the Gareth? I can remember second name. What? No, I, I'm reading it sybok. It can be trust in this. As the visual effects supervisors on monsters dark continent, he sure knows his, realities. I have no idea. Oh, the 2010 2010 monsters was Gareth Edwards. This is this sequel. I didn't know how the sequel didn't even lie. Once discontinued, that could not have done very well. That's a good thing, actually. Look it up. Yeah, yeah. What are we talking. What are we saying? Yeah. No. 2014, directed by Tom green as a 2.1 on letterbox. Okay. Seven years on from the event of monsters and the infected zones have spread worldwide. Humans have been knocked off the top of the food chain with disparate communities struggling for survival. American soldiers are being sent abroad to protect U.S. interests from the monsters. But the war is far from being won. I tell you what, that is not a very good premise, And I do not recognize any of the cast. We do have our first look at Maleficent as well, with Angelina Jolie, a character in here, and we've got our first look at 22 Jump Street. Oh my God, yeah, the Jump Street's 22 Jump Street. We got a first look at the sequel here with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Yeah. Empire the slight. So what happens is, is that Empire speaks to an upcoming kind of actor. An up and coming nights. Oh, yeah. Well, Hollywood in English, the face film on Michael B Jordan is about to light up. Oh my God. Fruitvale Station is the gripping and moving account of the real life shooting of Oscar Grant at the hands of two cops in 2009. However, let me find it. Spare a thought for Michael Jordan's mother. My mom doesn't like to see me dices Jordan, who plays the titular character Oscar. He's 27 at the time of this year he was last year, when Empire speaks to former star of the Y, he's hitting the gym to train for the Rocky spinoff Creed, which will reunite him with Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler, who then obviously the two went on to this and is I'm trying to like what? Coming up. But first, Hill reteamed with Chronicle director Josh Trank to play Johnny Storm, a.k.a. The Human Torch. It gets better at my core, it gets better performance. That was that was obviously it's a picture of him obviously in it. He looks so young, so obviously 27, so young. Better than we all now. All right. Well he is performers also has a bold black cherry coming up inside. What's his outlook. Mental yeah. He's in this magazine. He's training for Creed and Johnny store two very different films. Yeah, one received a little bit better than the other. Here we are. The New Hope's your guide to episode seven, Star Wars episode seven's cast. And then we are greeted with the cast photo that was first, that was first released back way back when I was a little bit a table read and we had everyone I read Daisy Ridley, Harrison Ford, Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, Donal Gleason, Max von Sandile even though he died the first five minutes that Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill boy did he not to be did not need to be there in that in that read through because he has no lines in the film. Oscar with that Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, the breakout star of The Block, has, according to often spies, bagged what could well be the film's lead role. John Boyega was done horrible, dirty in that film. Adam Driver goes bad, boy sang about going into outer space inside the world. Davis I'm not seeing that film. We've seen it. Driver has long been mooted as the film's big bad, and there's also suggestions that he could be the son of Han and Leia are all correct. Which is correct. Yeah, very well predicted. There's a Jeremy Kyle episode waiting to happen. That's what he says. Hey, that's literally what it says here. What do I say about Daisy Ridley? She's a young British actress with a handful of small credits. Blink and you'll miss her and Toast of London to her name. But rumor has it that she'll be playing the daughter of Han and Leia, and her placement here doesn't dispute that notion, because she sat in between, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. The rumor at the time was she was going to be the daughter I remember I didn't driver was going to be the son. That would have been better. Harrison Ford obviously returns the 71 year old to deploy diversion tactic during interviews, but now it's been confirmed his place in J.J. Abrams side. Harrison Ford is 82 right now. Yeah. For an indicator that Han has Han has, as rumored, a massive part in the film. Yeah, yeah, it does, it does. It has suggestions that Luke Skywalker could assume that Obi-Wan Kenobi role in episode seven. Training a young Padawan before departing into the greenscreen realm to cameo as a Blue specter. But we suspect that Abrams, we pursue we suspect that Abrahams won't do anything nearly as ruse. That's exactly what they did to it. No, they know they did. It did not an episode. No, it just wasn't in the fucking film. In the film, right at the end, threw a light saber. Oscar Isaac, one of the first to sign up. Isaac does a nice line of brooding, so we'd have money on him being a bad one. No, he's going to be the bad guy. No, he's definitely not the film. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Max von Sydow, obviously he died literally in the first five minutes of the film. He gave the map to Luke Skywalker. If you believe everything you hear, episode seven could be titled That Ancient Fear. Oh, see, this is just called episode seven at the time, because this was a year and a bit before it was released. I really like the ancient figure as a name and fonts in Dao, the former Ming and Merciless. Of course, could well be that ancient fear, an evil force that sets the plot in motion. He kind of sets the plot in motion, but he's not evil. This is crazy. Yeah, all the predictions, like in some ways, they're the better films. Yeah. Andy Circus is interesting. The presents a circus scene here, dressing down from his usual costume. He's just wearing a suit has led to speculation. I hope he mo capping strange and unusual aliens. And while that may be true, we'd also like to see circus just behind the circus. Well, IMO captors so. Oh, I was literally trying to work out you somehow. Gleason. Yeah, maybe the Son of Skywalker. Oh my word. If the rumors proved to be correct, 31 year old Irish actor could be playing Luke's son. But will he be good or evil? And how did Luke have a son? After a while? Indeed, when our mommy and daddy died, I know. Anyway, that's really interesting. I'm not right, I say. This is. I'm reading this the first time I saved it for We Could Do it for this episode. It's quite interesting seeing how people have just been like what the room is like, as you say, like we do. We're doing the same for doomsday. We're talking about what characters are going to be this, what are they going to do? Hey, we're gonna do that. And it's interesting, obviously, a year before the film was released, just how I don't feel like we get like featurettes like that anymore. Even like, that's really cool to see them just kind of spinning wheels and just see what happens and just literally just being what was saying, whatever they want to say wrong across the fucking board. They were really wrong. They got a couple of first looks and exclusives in this in this magazine. Sorry, we've got Fury, the Brad Pitt oh, David David Hughes film childbirth, Jon Bernthal good cast. I've seen. So I'm not saying oh no, he's good. I've had it's good. Transformers Age of Extinction gets a big, big plainness. Mark Wahlberg says the Dinobots are incredible. Absolutely awesome. What he's paid to say that. Yeah. Michael Bay obviously directing an episode, directing that film. Eric. Yeah, what else we got here? The Jersey boys, Clint Eastwood's film, the Jersey boys. Never heard of it. I'll say I've ever seen or heard of that. That suits you, sir. Introducing Ben Affleck as the new Batman. So this is our first look at the Batmobile. Ben Affleck, if you remember that. I remember that year. I remember that very, very well. Very well. Yeah. It's first look at Ben Affleck as Dark Knight. Tonight is currently unofficial, but will probably end up officially titled Batman Versus Superman. They were absolutely correct that, they missed doing justice. Yeah, but do for tights. Jupiter. So really stupid tights. Snyder and his trusty costume designer, Michael Wilkinson are keeping schtum on the new look, letting the picture speak for themselves. Thank the Lord. And that because that saying a lot. And it's a very fucking good costume. Yeah. What do you think at the back of that costume? I think it was cool. I thought it was. It had this more fabric vibe, which, you know, I kind of like it's a little less protective that it was just him and he's fucking massive. He's you. Yeah. Okay. That's what it says here. A world away from the battle arm of the Christian Bale iteration and the all in one Michael Keaton version, that meant that the actor could not turn his head. Flexibility will clearly not be an issue in this Affleck's suit. There are rumors that Batman will don another souped up costume to try and match Superman's power levels, which he does. He does indeed he does. Or though he's got some. The sources for Star Wars work good, but they pretty much nailed on the Batman v Superman, which seems to be taking its cue as well. The movie, most likely from Frank Miller's classic comic The Dark Knight Returns, hence the bigger, darker logo on the chest and the fabric. As for the car, yeah, apparently everyone loves the car. Let's get into that. So we'll skip through a few pages, because I want to get to some of the main points from Bob Hoskins, as well as an obituary in here for Bob Hoskins. Who Framed Roger rabbit? I'm pretty sure he also played Mario in the Mario Mario film, which isn't great. That was a hoot. How much spider milk has that with Rupert Grint? One of the best things they do is how much supply of milk. I still sign up for Empire. I still get them through. The latest one arrived like yesterday for me, which is a feature on The Running Man, the New York. Oh yes. Yeah, really excited to see that. Yeah. So in cinemas released May 30th in 2014. We have Edge It tomorrow hanging film Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. Very good film day. And I also agree with you they rate it four stars. A playful and frantic science fiction twister that mimics the best aliens matrix Groundhog Day while offering something fresh and most importantly, really, do you agree? I would actually, yeah, I think I'd rate higher than the four star personally. You can make someone's day with a view cinema card starting at 5 pounds. You can pick them up at the foyer. Well, 5 pounds is cinema card. You know, a view view though, are great for their prices because I think they keep them quite like a good viewer. A good chain for out now in cinemas also is Godzilla the American one Gareth Edwards, Ironside, Johnson, Bryan Cranston Godzilla great film making notable intentions and cracking monster action, yet Edwards films never reconciles its B-movie origins. Cliched characters, preposterous premise while its solemn, no Nolan ized tone. Nolan eyes, Nolan eyes. Yeah, obviously trying to make it realistic and grounded when it's, you know, to be factually. We see that fucking everywhere. Everywhere. Nolan. Yeah, this Godzilla stomps but very rarely romps three stars. Do you agree? Yeah I would, I would agree with that if I was it was isn't the right film. There are some shots in there which are incredible. Like the falling as they, as they like fall down through the mist. And then you see Godzilla fighting that thing is an incredible shot. But yeah, I mean, like Bryan Cranston dying in the first act was kind of fucking barbaric. But yeah, it was it was all right. Was up a few more. Oh, got a lot of pages of in the cinema was also out. So I'll quickly run through some of the, some of the films here. Oculus. Do you remember that I do and get an impression that it's actually a good film? Wow. A good small scale horror movie that unusually, unusually interesting roles for cult TV stars Killing and Psycho, who both get more to do than play scared and run screaming. Flanagan is a director to watch. Mike I like some other good. Mike Flanagan is the director to watch. The 2014 horror killing overseas formed an amazing career for itself as well. Yeah, Oculus is a good movie. That makes sense now because Flanagan is like, oh, he's a cracking horror director. Wow. He's if he's a as if he's the world to watch. That's amazing. John five through Schiff was in cinemas at the time. I've seen that Chef Carl Garcia's reputation is destroyed overnight by a food blogger and an unfortunate tweet. Viral video fiasco. Going back to basics with the help of his ex-wife and son and sous chef, he hits the streets to do tasty takeaways. They? You rated it three stars. They said eat well beforehand or you'll be tummy rumbling, tongue hanging out, agony at warp. Eat well beforehand or your being tummy rumbling, tongue hanging out agony as the merry band cook their way across America. Good fun and happy filling fare. Three stars. Yeah, the ending was a shame. I think they just fell flat on on its, delivery of of that finale. But yeah, it's it's not from The Fault in Our Stars. Oh, wow. That in the cinema was featuring, Shanley Lynwood and Ansel Elgort with Willem Dafoe, Laura Dern, despite a few missteps. And it's spirited, touching romance is Shailene Woodley's best performance yet. Divergent fans after a weepy need, look no further. I've not personally seen it. I went to the cinema to watch that with with a date at the time, and we both cried and then never spoke to each other again. I don't know if that's because the film or what, but yeah, we we've literally never seen like end of a text or anything, but I was 17. So I guess in the cinema it also is X-Men Days of Future Past. You Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Bryan Singer directs the best X-Men film since the second one. This sequel prequel reboot thrashes the 70s with Helen Lamb, Isla, Iceland and some of the massive cast struggled to register. But what's here is all good. We want X-Men Apocalypse Now. Oh you don't, oh you don't 2014 Empire. No, you do not. Oh, you do not. That's. Yeah, that's really about it. Sniper alley is available on the Pierce for now. Just to let you know, rights 301, greatest of all time. Our first reader, Paul, in six years. You turned out in your hundreds and thousands. Here are the results. I I'm not I'm going to I'm going to get annoyed by this. I can tell I'm going to get annoyed by this. Can you guess what the 299th best film of all time was? Erin Brockovich? No. It's 28 Days later. Way. That's really good. From the last episode. Yeah. So that's why I did. Oh, there is one that I write just for a little bit of a, context or context where I not what I've not looked at this list. Okay. So I don't know what's coming up. Okay. I just, I, I know it's 301 and I thought, That's a good episode. Why 301? I don't what is the three of you? The one just greatest. No. What is it was the worst movie. Oh 302. Oh, sorry. There's one. Is Bicycle Thieves 1948. It's that. Yeah. That's fine. 20 days later, they say Danny Boyle does zombies. Visceral. Vital. Unforgettable. The MVP is the cinematographer, flitting between Digicam realism and picture of pastoral lyricism. And the OMG moment is when Jim walks through an empty London, which I agree because that what do they all have? OMG moments yes, every everything has a country moment. Can you believe that? The new entry in the 301st edition won Best Films of All time in 287th place is Prometheus. That should not be on the, excuse you. It's excuse this. Yeah. Already. Oh, right. This is a shit list, David. Drifting around the spaceship while everyone sleeps is the OMG moment of the film. 200 288 is Tim Burton Batman? Well, the OMG moment is who are you? You know, I feel like Prometheus is a great example of what we thought was good in 2014, which is that kind of Nolan view. And then when we look back on it, we're like, wow, that was terrible. It's just all style, no substance to this. Prometheus is better than back to the future part two. Have a word with yourself, please. Whoever wrote that it's better than A Nightmare on Elm Street. It's better than love, actually. Love actually joined 96. You know the fact that love actually made that list? I am happy about that. The OMG moment. What would you say if I'm not actually love actually? I mean, for me, it's, when she opens the prison, Emma Thompson alone in her bedroom cries, Joni Mitchell! Yeah, Man of Steel is better than Prometheus and Love actually, the only moment is the destruction of Krypton. Which, to be fair, you've not seen before. I thought it was quite good. Obviously, the 300 is 285 at the OMG moment or when it kicks them, despite just a little bit of an FYI, the anti-human league 25 of these films featured monsters, 23 featured aliens, four angels, 21 featured robots, and full featured zombies. Oh! In this. In this look. Yes okay 272 to Disney Animation. Let's go tangled Little Mermaid. So the OMG moment is the under the sea. Under the sea. Oh fucking line will be happy about that at least. Yes, in 200 and something I've already forgotten. I've already forgotten where it was 257. Best film of all time is South Park Bigger, Longer and Uncut. What the actual fuck are we doing? What is this? The two I what you 255 best film of all time. Beating out the likes of Dirty Harry, Tinker, Tailor spy. Blazing Saddles is Michael Bay's Transformers from 2007. Oh my God, I told you this was going to annoy me, right? The 252nd best film of all time. It is a horror film. It's a horror film that we both love. We both love. Yes, we both love. We are both very keen on this 2014. Oh well obviously. Well yeah. But like, yeah I blame scream scream. Yeah. Hey the OMG moment I mean the drew Barrymore stuff you Barrymore. Do you like scary movies? Yeah. 250 I'm alone. Okay is home alone. The OMG moment is not one but two paint cans and a rope. But you know what? According to Empire Raiders is better than Home Alone. Bullshit. Star Trek into Darkness get to fuck. Get to fuck the world's End is 243. The movie the carried by the previous two worlds. Oh, shit. All right, let's have a look. 228 is our first Pixar film on the list that I can see. First Pixar film, monsters, Inc finding Nemo to be high up. The OMG moment is when Marlin mistakenly believes he lost me. My forever. I cry this, not the fucking absolute massacre at the beginning of the film though, when the darkest moments in Pixar's history are 224th best film ever made, a Star Wars Episode three revenge of the Sith. We went to the cinema to rewatch this on its anniversary. The only moment they've put down is Yoda versus Palpatine. I would argue that the fight on Mustafar between Obi-Wan, Anakin, I would argue an even fucking mask. His children, I forget him. I just killed a lot of kids. And that's why this happens. And this really does kill a lot of kids. A part doesn't care about the massacre of children, cause that's two films they haven't marked just 218. There's another Pixar film, which I'm shocked. Is this low down Toy Story. No, no no no, not not that I'm assuming it's high up. Yeah, I probably, The Incredibles, I feel like slept on it's time. Like, not slept on necessarily. But I do feel like as time has gone on, we've appreciate that more and more and more collectively. Oh, we got a big feature here for the 206 or something like that. It's a whole page. It is a film that is released in 1968 starring Charles Heston. It was remade in 2000 or 2001 with Tim Burton and Mark Wahlberg. No. Planet of the apes. We got that. I mean, I'm sure you did not get that. Oh my God, 200. They've reserved three pages for the 206th best film ever made, where they clearly disagreed with that place. They were. They obviously wrote that thinking it was going to be a lot higher. They had to put it under any of these, like, featurettes, because that's that's interesting, I don't know. Oh, let's find out. The 2009 J.J. Abrams Star Trek. It's 188. Oh, how is that in the top 200? It's beaten films like American Werewolf in London. I literally got a patch of that on the desk. That is an incredible film about beaten Ben-Hur. Little Miss Sunshine Lame is Let the Right One In. That was the the remake of the original, the original 2008. Yeah. That was I mean, yeah, that was in the top 20, top four for Hollywood. Can you tell me which Marvel film that was released in 2014 is the 183rd best film of all time? Iron man two no, wait 2014 Avengers oh 2012. After that, when soldier went to soldier. Yeah. To fight. To fight is the OMG moment of that film. What's going to piss me off about that? Those that were going to be of the Marvel films, which are higher? Well, I don't agree. I've gone over Iron Man. That was quite far back. Okay. Doctor strange laugh on how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb, which Natori notoriously was famous for actually redoing the nuclear arms thing like that. That film that people watched that I was like, yeah, we don't want that to happen. So they wrote The Nuclear, obviously, based on that film, it's 175th best film of all time. Oh yes, we do have another featurette. 174 is a film that was released in 1995. It is a historical epic, 95 huge star. It stars Mel Gibson, passion of the Christ. Nope. He shouts freedom a lot. Oh, Braveheart. Braveheart. Oh, 74th best film ever made. I forget about it. Film nowadays, I don't know why it's a good film. Another three pager. Oh, four pages. Jesus Christ, we now have an advert for Edge of Tomorrow, which is out in cinemas soon. I reckon that would be in the top 301 if you read it, that Tim Burton 1990 film starring Johnny Depp. It was. This is the 170th. Nice. Okay. A 2009 film directed by Marc Webb, which features King's Speech. No, no, that was Tobe Hooper. King's speech, was it? Yeah. Because he then directed cats and then ruined his career. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and so additional. Oh, obviously there's some lovely film I really enjoyed that Monty Python. Holy cow. 167. Just a flesh wound. These are like film fan writings, I guess. Empire magazine. Yeah. Is the read as though, isn't it? So I guess we should talk about that. 162nd is my favorite horror film of all time. No it's not. It's my second favorite horror film. Okay, so according to Empire, more Shaun of the dead, it's better than 28 Days Later. I think a lot of people would probably agree with that. I guess to a general audience. I was surprised when you said 28 Days Later is your top. To be fair, I thought that was the OMG moment. Is the Batman soundtrack. Oh, we got a new entry in 2013. Disney 2013 frozen. Frozen 159. Beating. Frozen is a 1991 Disney film. Okay, now, Snow White. You're in the beast. Oh, yeah. Yeah. My second favorite film of all time. 155 airplane. You think Naked Guns gonna be on it? I've not seen it. Yeah, they better be nice. Oh. Forrest Gump would definitely be on there again. Yeah. Not seen it yet. Dawn of the dead is better than Shaun of the dead 1978 OG original 1978 version. Hot fuzz, according to the audience, is better than Shaun of the dead, which we talked about in the last episode to be 545 147. We have a 2010 Pixar film, maybe ten Pixar 2010 2010 OG May. What came out to a cause or story? 300 and The Social Network is 148. When Harry met Sally 151. Watch Zack Snyder watch Big Ben in The Deer Hunter. But, you know, I think all this is telling us is that in 2014, we actually like Zack Snyder. That's gone out the fucking window as. But yeah, but in 2014, I did Man of Steel, which was decent on Watchmen, which was 300 units. That's 300. So he was he was a I was in a good place. Yeah. We have another oh another couple pages of the 142nd best film ever made. Any more clues, 1964. It's Sulu I don't you never do dulu. Yeah, the road of it. Yeah. This go for a few pages here. All right. Batman Begins is 138, beating Scarface and Close Encounters of the Third Kind and The Goonies. I'm surprised to see some horror, to be fair. Yeah. So the original Halloween 133, and then Wall-E, but not as good as In Bruges. But wow, that's high. That film is high. The 1978 Halloween as well is also not as good as Anchorman The Legend of Ron, but I have a word. 123rd is The Wizard of Oz as loud? Oh, yeah, that's really low down. I thought I'd be. That'd be much higher, I did. Oh, I why is that so low down? I guess like, our generation don't care as much about it. We're getting into some films here now as we've got obviously we've got return of the Jedi to some film. No, but like so we got 12 Years a Slave, good Will hunting, Requiem for a dream, Princess Bride, Groundhog Day, Evil Dead two up, avatar is 110, and the avatar should not be in that list at all. 96 is Singin in the rain. Wow. What was 100th? The 100th best film is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Okay, The Terminator is 107 now. I have not seen Terminator two yet, and I'm better all time there to be higher. Yeah, 100%. Kill Bill Rocky 95. Donnie Darko 94. Good film. Wolf of Wall Street is 85. Your film Lords but spirited Away now about 82. Yeah, sorry again for that. I actually have a Spirited Away merch on my shelves. Eternal sunshine of the Spotless Mind is 78. I are too low. I saw a scathing review of that film. I does this woman on on on letter on letterbox idiot on TikTok who talks about, oh, if you have these in your top four as a man, you're a red flag. And what was eternal sunshine? What the fuck? Why is I read far? I think the general premise she had was you think you're a lot more in depth and moody and depressive, but I just love the franchise writing. You just need to get over your ex. I think that was basically what we have. Another spread. Okay. Is an Orson Welles film, Orson Welles, 2000? No, it wasn't the fucking. It was. Okay. No. That's. Go. That's not gonna be 77. Citizen Kane. I'm expecting that to be. You didn't tell me the number. In all fairness. Oh, 77 things, 1949 film. Orson Welles plays character called Harry lime. Nor the Third Man, never a concept. 69. 69 is Raging Bull. Whether it's the boxing movie, isn't it? Yeah, yeah yeah yeah, psychos. I'm a 70. Could see a horror. So. Hi, dark Knight Rises is 72. No. Now, I'm a big fan of obviously the Dark Knight films. Batman Begins is lower than The Dark Knight Rises. Surprises the hell Rises is not a good film. Saving Private Ryan is worse than The Dark Knight Rises, baby fucking selves. Rear Window, which cocks best film for me? Yeah. Good film. E.T number 64. Titanic is number 62. Very surprised that so low. Well, the thing is number 64. Fuck yeah. Yeah. So we've got the thing in it. Not quite the top 50. I'll take 60 for the top hundred. Oh yeah. No, I'll take that every day of the week. Toy stories 58. Fuck off. Is Toy Story about the thing? The shining is 53, clockwork orange was 50. 50 is Pan's Labyrinth Guillermo del Toro's Toro? Yeah, yeah. I mean, I've heard a lot of good things. I was the one with the eyes in the high. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Good bad. The ugly 47. Lord rings two towers 46. Gone with the wind 52. Oh, we've got another spread. And it's a recent film. 2012 for what? What is the number 45, The Avengers? No, no, it is a Daniel Craig film. Oh, Christ. It wouldn't be casino Royale. Oh, wouldn't be quantum. Sam Mendes, Skyfall. I feel it's the 45th best film ever made. I think it's one of the better James Bond films. Yeah, but I wouldn't. I wouldn't say it's in the top 50 greatest films of all time. No, it's a bit. We're in, Luce. We're coming. We're getting to it now. We are getting to it now. So number 40 is a wonderful life. Wow. Okay. Yeah. Could be higher, but for Die Hard is 39 okay. Gravity's 35. Back off. But you know what's better than gravity at 30 for most films Forrest Gump Forrest Gump is 30. Forrest Gump is 34. I'm fuming. That's so low. The films I'll go through, I'll go through up to number 12. These are the films that beat it in order. So we're going from two 3433 to 12. Citizen Kane, usual suspects, Lawrence of Arabia, American Beauty. It was the five like equal these films here. Yeah. People have put Ron Burgundy ahead of us American Beauty number 30. There will be blood. Terminator two, judgment days 28. Okay, I'm ripping us up. Gladiator Casablanca at 25. Schindler's list 24 is Big Lebowski. Then we've got The Matrix 2001 A Space Odyssey. That's low. 21 is alien nice nine Apocalypse Now is number 20. Aliens is 19. A lot of people do. You consider that better? Jurassic Park 80, low to the future 17. Do you know what's better than Jurassic Park 2012 Avengers? No, it's fucking not a B, Forrest. Oh, that'd be a million. Forrest Gump, Terminator two, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List. Yeah, Godfather part two is 15. 14 is Fight Club, 13 is Goodfellas, and 12 is Lord of the Rings Return of the King. Number 11 is a film that you famously do not like. It's directed by Ridley Scott in 1982. Oh, fucking Blade Runner. Blade Runner 11 I know everybody likes that film for some reason, famously do not like we are in the top ten greatest films of all time. I'm still not over Avengers being that high up. So are you ready, sir? Oh yeah. Piss me off. Number ten is a 2010 film directed by Christopher Nolan, starring Lee DiCaprio and inception. Inception. But no film. It's a great film of a nine is a 1981 Steven Spielberg film featuring a stitched character. Indiana Jones, Indiana Jones ready to the Lost Ark number eight. You're gonna need a bigger boat. Gross. Yep. Number eight. Number seven is the Peter Jackson, I think is the first one. The first one film featuring Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood in the rings. Yeah. As if you started with Orlando Bloom. I served first, the first face that came into my head for some reason. Number six defined sci fi, defined sci fi, defined sci fi, and what we see. Sci fi today, 1977. Directed by George Lucas, written and directed by George Lucas. It did not define sci fi. Absolutely not define sci fi. I'm glad that they made top five. Yeah, so number six I was obviously for those of you didn't understand. So yeah, I knew number five is a Quentin Tarantino 1994 or Pulp Fiction. Oh, fiction number four is directed by oh. Is it directed by. It doesn't say Frank Darabont featuring Morgan Freeman and it's it's redemption. Oh, okay. Number three. Wow. Actually, that's probably I don't know what the fuck's going to be top three. We are now into the top three greatest films of all time. I have no idea. Number three is a 2008 film directed by Christopher Nolan called The Dark Knight. The Dark Knight, of course, Number Two is a Francis Ford Coppola film directed in 1972. The number one greatest film of all time. I'm trying to judge off your reaction, but you've given nothing away as I need to keep. I just need to hold it in a poker face. Greatest film of all time and Empire. Hundreds of thousands of people were took this down the wrong. I imagine it features probably cinema's greatest ever twist. And you look, you have to agree with me on that because it is literally one of the best twist in cinema history. Is it going to be 600 oh six inches the best film ever? Made it to this great twist. It was a film directed by Irvin Kershner in 1980. I hope you me know. Would you like to know who is written by George Lucas? Oh fuck off, I think I've just caught it. Are you taking the piss? The number one best film of all time, which I have to agree with. I'm sorry. So is Star Wars Episode five, The Empire Strikes Back. Now, what's interesting with this is that the OMG moment is I love you, I know, no, I don't know if they didn't want to give spoiler a spoilers out, but you have to admit, this film probably features one of cinema's greatest ever twists. Six senses bro. No chance. The twist in that better no Darth Vader being Luke Skywalker. People don't even quote it properly. Everyone thinks it says, Luke, I am your father. No, that's a wrong quote. But but you know what? It's it's not memorable that people don't even quote. If I said if I went to the general audience, 100 people survey 100 people, I see dead people. What film is that from? Paul. Luke, I am your father. Star Wars. Oh, yeah? Yeah, they say Star Wars, but they wouldn't say which episode and what the episode was called then. But in the same vein, what people say for what they're going to say for the sake of saying that Bruce Willis film, that Bruce Willis film. Yeah. No, it's the same fucking vein. It is the same vein, does not have a better plot twist. It absolutely does. You have two films. You have followed this, this beacon, The New Hope, this, he will bring Jedi. He will bring the balance to the force. You followed this guy. You follow this evil man trying to basically destroy him. This is dad. What the fuck? It was good twist. I'll give you that. But the greatest twist in film history, he's the greatest asset. He's probably one of the. No, no it's not. It is the greatest twist. There you go. So you are saying that. I will say, you know what? The visits twist better than our fault. Whoa! Yeah. No, what you're saying. I just think you're just trying to be different now. I am not surprised in any capacity by that top. I am very disappointed by though. Also, someone said here it says I think Empire was probably one of the last real shocking reveals because you just can't do anything like that anymore. Which I would have to agree I you can't. A twist like that, there's no way you can keep that secret. Infinity War, what about it? Infinity Wars, ending of the snap. That was jaw dropping and it was done. And it was done by fucking Marvel at the height of their popularity. Yeah, but you knew. There you go. There was no film. Can we remember the fuck that was? Shut him down. I don't know who it was. It's just a big he was just a big speech. So yeah, I obviously disagree with that. You obviously do. What's up? Let's have a look at some home entertainment. What was that in 2014. Let's put a pound of TV while we go to look at. Just let you know that Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit featuring Chris Pine is out on Blu ray. You can pick it up in Sainsbury's for 15 pounds, but I Sainsbury's while 10 pounds on DVD. That's weird because those prices haven't really changed in 11 years. Like 10 pound DVD, 15 pounds Blu ray is pretty much what you expect from supermarkets. Yeah. That's interesting. Out on DVD? No. Oh well, this is school rereview. So I guess it's stuff that's been out like this. Hey these are on DVD. Go and have a watch at them. They probably reviewed them when they're in cinema. Yeah. Like, like Dallas Buyers Club is out on DVD, so go buy that delivery man. The Harry Hill movie is out. Oh my word, the Monuments Men. Oh, no, that was featuring like, George Clooney directed like it is about a World War two, and they find some art, I think. Right. I don't know, so great synopsis. It's like, that's all I can really remember of it. I remember that film also out. Bastards. So yeah, this is really about it. Out and coming soon from arrow video. The Pit and Pendulum, The Beast Within. I tell you what, our videos crack it. I love our video. Yeah HMV going into the into the collector's editions and seeing all the our films. Yeah, it's fucking bang in time. Alien resurrection gets a rereview. It's on Blu ray only now. Not the worst idea in film, but the least ambitious as always. The worst alien film. Alien resurrection for fun. Can you just say that? I just said Alien Resurrection. And then they said, not the worst. No, I think resurrection is the worst. One interesting covenant was shit to me on the count of three. Cluding alien versus predator in those. No, no. Okay. What are you resurrection? Honestly, clone, I don't know. I also know that I thought I was 83, including no alien three. I didn't cubed alien three picks up right after alien two because they killed off it. Wrecked condo like all of alien. Yeah, and he killed her off an alien resurrection. It's like set 300 years after something like that. And I think, like, cloning or some of the. It's been a while. It's been a long time. Empire wants to is out on June 9th. True detective. Oh, what a fucking series. A series True Detective is. That's one of the best TV series I've ever watched. It's out on DVD and in TV soon. That series is it the fourth episode where it's like just one take of him going through, like, the houses and oh my God, great, great series like you. I will put as many pounds in the TV jar as possible to talk about True Detective. I do not care. Lego the Hobbit is out on, Xbox, PC, PS3, PS4, PSV to 3DS, Xbox One, three, six, four years later, I remember that it was so silly. Why? Ahead of its time, way ahead of its time. People weren't ready for it. The books that are out now in books. Oh, the Secret Service, Kingsman a book. Yeah, I think they just. I think they've just redone the film. Oh, they do like they do. Mark Miller, Matthew Vaughn wrote wrote a book about it. Yeah, he does that a lot. He did it for the other one. The most recent one he did, which wasn't very good. Was it the one that was set in World War 1 or 2? No, it wasn't a Kingsman film. I was, like, oh, it's got Henry Cavill, Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard. Oh, Stan, I cannot yeah, do a leap off. It was in it as well, wasn't it. They also had Sam Rockwell, I believe. Yeah. Oh I had it then. It's just someone. It's like a surname. Real slick. It's called. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh. Thank you. Real slick. Teaser com. What the hell is that? Keep comin. Come to the dark side as a t shirts available for 16.50 pounds. That doesn't. That sounds like an adult side. Hey.
